Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; Stoner’s Choice in the 13:30 and Scardura 14:05 both at Perth. Compare odds and bet.
Perth stages a cracking card on Sunday, when the ITV cameras will be up at the Scottish track. The 2m novices’ handicap chase is a good event, in which Return Ticket should improve on his seasonal return over hurdles 8 days ago. However, preference is for Scardura (2:05) in the hope that the ground isn’t too soft.
Runner-up to Longhouse Sale on his chase debut recently, that race has worked out particularly well, with the winner following up under a penalty, and the third and fifth have also won since. Good ground would be ideal, but provided conditions aren’t too bad, he can score for an in-form Neil Mulholland.
In the novices’ hurdle earlier on the card, Stoner’s Choice (1:30) is fancied to make a winning debut over obstacles for Fergal O’Brien and Max Kendrick. A bumper winner when trained by Ben Case, he was highly tried in that sphere last term (ran in two Listed events) and should be much more at home on better ground here.
I’ve got a couple of days off now, but the column/selections will return on Wednesday.
Sunday’s selections:
1:30 Perth – Stoner’s Choice; 13/8 Bet365
2:05 Perth – Scardura; 6/4 Betfred
