William Haggas boasts a fine recent record up at Newcastle (32 winners from 90 runners during the past five years) and Al Salt (2:10) can make the journey north worthwhile on Friday, in the division two of the mile novice event.
Despite finishing only fifth at Chelmsford last November, he shaped with promise and probably would have appreciated a bit more cover, as he was keen on the wide outside. There was enough promise in the run (travelled well) to suggest there are races to be won with him, however, and if he can settle a little better, he can get off the mark on this reappearance. The selection has been gelded since that debut.
