Wycombe are 21/10 with Betfred to enjoy a 5th consecutive victory away in League 2 as they head to high-flying Port Vale.
After drawing their first four away matches, Wycombe have stepped things up a gear on their travels to win four-in-a-row, five if you include the FA Cup tie at Hayes, and the Chairboys can continue their excellent form on the road as they head to second-placed Port Vale.
The Valiants are solid at home, where they have lost just once this season, but they haven’t convinced of late and Gary Waddock’s Wanderers subsequently look huge at 21/10 with Betfred to collect a maximum haul and leapfrog their promotion rivals.
However, it’s worth noting that although Vale have won just once in seven outings in the league, they have suffered only one defeat in that period and their five stalemates since September suggest that some insurance wouldn’t go amiss. Take Wycombe at 11/10 then in Stan James’ ‘Draw No Bet’ market.
Accrington are without a win in six and have conceded a worrying 17 goals in that time but they’re nevertheless overpriced at 2/1 with to grab three points at home to Stevenage. Stanley stopped the rot in the FA Cup recently, beating League One outfit Oldham in the pair’s first round tie and they followed that up with a credible draw at Southend, results that suggest John Coleman’s men are turning things around.
Stevenage by contrast, are in decent form, unbeaten in six in the league and they also stunned MK Dons on penalties in the FA Cup on Tuesday. That marathon contest however, could take it out of them and it could be a case of ‘after the Lord Mayor’s Show’ at Accrington, who score plenty of goals on their own patch.
On that subject, attacking midfielder has struck five times in his last eight for Stanley and currently looks like their main threat. Bold punters should therefore consider Paddy Power’s 9/2 for him to add to his tally in this one.
Elsewhere, Crewe bounced back from four straight defeats in all competitions to see off Gillingham and they’re a tasty 13/10 with Coral to get the better of Rotherham, who were hammered 3-0 at non-league York on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cheltenham beat Morecambe at Whaddon Road in the FA Cup a fortnight ago and they can repeat the feat as the pair lock horns again at the same venue. The Robins have lost just once at home this season and the Shrimps, who slumped to a home loss against fellow strugglers Lincoln a week ago, don’t travel at all well. Betdaq’s 6/5 for a home win therefore catches the eye.
