Coral have cut England’s odds to host the 2018 World Cup to 11/8 from 6/4 after a reasonably favourable FIFA evaluation.
Russia remains favourites at 10/11, with Portugal and Spain next at 6/1. Belgium and Holland’s combined bid is the 33/1 outsider.
“FIFA’s report raised concerns about all four bids, but after recent setbacks to England’s campaign, the comments relating to their bid have to be regarded as largely positive, and therefore a boost to the chances of World Cup 2018 taking place here,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
