Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Wednesday; Shishkin in the 13:15 and Precious Cargo 13:45 both at Newbury. Compare odds and bet.
Newbury stages a cracking card on Wednesday, where the racecourse debut of Sprinter Sacre’s full brother in the concluding bumper is sure to be a popular focal point.
Nicky Henderson has a strong team heading to his local track and Shishkin (1:15) is taken to make amends for his early departure on his hurdling debut here four weeks ago. The imposing six-year-old had created a really good impression when winning his bumper at Kempton and he is readily given another chance, despite there being a couple of interest in opposition.
Henderson saddles two of the five runners in novices’ handicap chase, in which preference is for Precious Cargo (1:45) who can make it two-from-two over fences.
Despite shouldering top-weight, the giant seven-year-old looks potentially a class above the opposition here and he won’t mind the testing ground.
Wednesday’s selections:
1:15 Newbury – Shishkin; 4/5 William Hill
1:45 Newbury – Precious Cargo; 5/4 William Hill
