Grade 1 action comes from Sandown on Saturday, where Eldorado Allen is of interest on his comeback in the concluding handicap hurdle, and Dashing Perk is likely to make a bold bid at following up his recent course-and-distance success, in the 2m4f handicap chase.
However, the day’s sole selection comes from Wincanton, in the shape of the improving Maypole Class (2:40) who can land the 2m5½f handicap hurdle for Jonjo O’Neill.
An easy winner on bad ground at Lingfield, this represents another step up the ladder, but given how he moved last time, he looks up to the task, and it doesn’t look the strongest of class 3 events. He was available at 4-1 at the time of writing.
