Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Sinjaari in the Newbury 15:00 and Monbeg Gold 19:20 at Uttoxeter. Compare odds and bet.
Newbury’s London Gold Cup looks as competitive as ever and is sure to throw up plenty of subsequent winners, but SINJAARI (3:00) is given the nod for William Haggas and Oisin Murphy.
The Camelot colt bumped into subsequent Sandown winner Private Secretary on his reappearance – which was his debut for the yard – before getting off the mark in taking fashion at Windsor, late last month. Given how he strode out that day, the track at Newbury could really suit and he looks worthy of each-way support in a strong-looking handicap.
Jonjo O’Neill – junior and senior – appear to have a couple of good chances on the day, with Tidal Watch (a winner for this column earlier in the week) bidding to follow up his Kempton success at Bangor. He is likely to go close, but the selection from the stable comes in the shape of MONBEG GOLD (7:20) at Uttoxeter’s evening fixture.
The nine-year-old appears to be getting his act together as a chaser and returned from more than four months off to score with ease at Southwell last month. Much more is required here, in a better race and off a 12lbs higher mark, but he looks most progressive and is taken to complete the hat-trick.
Saturday’s selections:
3:00 Newbury – Sinjaari; 4/1 bet365
7:20 Uttoxeter – Monbeg Gold; 15/8 William Hill
