Having missed his intended engagement in the 2000 Guineas Too Darn Hot (3:00) returns to action in the Dante Stakes on Thursday and he is taken to maintain his 100% record.
The big question with last year’s leading two-year-old is the step up in distance, but while the Derby trip over 1m4f might well stretch him, I think he will stay this 10 furlong trip and he remains a top-class prospect. Yet to race beyond a mile, he does take a grip in his races, but he was still very strong through the line in his races last year and the long home straight here at York could be right up his street.
