The lightly-raced Setting Sail (2:15) ran out an impressive winner on his comeback at Wolverhampton last month and the four-year-old can land Ascot’s opening handicap.
The Dansili gelding had been off the track since winning a soft-ground maiden at Goodwood in September 2017 and he appeals as the type to land a nice prize for Godolphin this season. He had the option of running in the Listed race on the card, but this looks a more suitable opportunity and a mark of 96 shouldn’t prove beyond him. Given that his maiden success came on easy ground, he shouldn’t mind any further overnight rain and given his size, he could be expected to step forward fitness-wise from Wolverhampton.
