Smart flat performer Erik The Red is an intriguing recruit to hurdles on Tuesday, but NORTHERN SOUL (2:55) is a nice prospect and might represent a bit of value.
Ruth Jefferson’s six-year-old was a winner at Wetherby over Christmas and appreciates a decent surface. He carries a penalty along with recent course-and-distance winner, and has opened up third best in the market.
Well bred, he was a winner of a bumper at Market Rasen last term and looks to have a bright future. If he eases slightly in the market, I would be looking to play each-way.
