Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Downtown Getaway in the Ascot 16:05 and Django Django 16:15 at Haydock. Compare odds and bet.
If Haydock passes a 7:30am inspection DJANGO DJANGO (4:15) looks worthy of support in the concluding handicap hurdle.
A comfortable winner at Chepstow last time (second has won since), he looks more than capable of defying a 5lbs rise and, although this looks a stronger event, he remains unexposed as a stayer. Jonjo O’Neill has his horses in good order at present and his son, Jonjo Junior, is fresh from riding his biggest winner to date, in last week’s Lanzarote Hurdle.
Earlier on the card Mister Fisher is likely to be difficult to beat in the Rossington Main Novices’ Hurdle, but he is trading fairly short and is best watched – under a penalty – at the prices. Nicky Henderson will be hoping for another big day, with Altior in action down at Ascot, where DOWNTOWN GETAWAY (4:05) is fancied to land the concluding novices’ hurdle.
He re-opposes another horse I like here – Moonlighter – but he surely would have won on debut, but for a serious error three out (Moonlighter fell at the next), and he receives weight from his likely main dangers.
Saturday’s selections:
4:05 Ascot – Downtown Getaway; 8/11 Betfred
4:15 Haydock – Django Django; 5/1 Bet365
