Jammin Masters has done little wrong in two starts this season and certainly sets the standard in the staying novice chase at Newcastle.
However, I’ve long been a fan of DEBECE (1:50) who made a pleasing start to life over fences himself, at Chepstow in October.
Third in the Sefton at Aintree as a novice hurdler, he returned there on Grand National day last year to run a blinder off a mark of 141. He’s always had the look of a chaser and, hopefully, he can start to make up for lost time this afternoon.
