Following an impressive winning hurdles debut at Newbury last month RATHHILL (2:25) is fancied to provide Nicky Henderson with a fifth win in the Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle in the last eight years.
Runner-up in an Irish Point-to-Point, he travelled like a potentially high-class prospect at Newbury and, although this represents a big step up in class, he is fancied to make it two from two for current connections.
At Wincanton, I like the chances of TEDHAM (2:40) on his handicap debut, for Jonjo O’Neill and Nick Scholfield.
An eye-catcher on more than one occasion, he has been facing some decent novices so far this season and ought to appreciate the step up in trip. An opening mark of 125 shouldn’t prove beyond him and he is worth backing each-way, with several firms paying four places.
