Exeter stages a decent staying novices’ hurdle on Thursday, in which SHAUGHNESSY (3:10) is taken to get off the mark for Oliver Sherwood.
Both Unwin VC and Woulduadamandeveit would warrant plenty of respect on bumper form (I was particularly impressed by the former last season), but both have questions to answer after their recent runs.
The selection stayed on well to win a bumper at Towcester in May and made a promising enough start over hurdles, when third here last month. The step up in trip looks sure to suit.
