Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Saturday; Theclockisticking in the Market Rasen 16:00. Compare odds and bet.
Market Rasen stages a good Listed handicap hurdle this afternoon, in which Theclockisticking (4:00) should go well for Stuart Edmunds. Runner-up in the bumper on this card last year, he made up into a smart novice hurdler thereafter and was badly hampered when last sighted at Aintree. The drop in trip isn’t too much of a concern and his best form comes on decent ground, so everything looks in place for a bold showing.
Regular readers will know that I have long been a fan of Cause Toujours who actually chased home the selection at Huntingdon last November, but I marginally prefer Theclockisticking to uphold that form.
Up at Chester, keep an eye on the returning Alkhawaneej Boy for Kevin Ryan and Kevin Scott. Off for more than a year, the market should provide a good guide, but being drawn 11 of 11 is far from ideal. He had impressed me when winning at Leicester last year, however.
Kadar also impressed me on debut recently at Haydock and I think he has a chance in a competitive Royal Lodge Stakes that kicks off the Newmarket card. It looks a strong renewal, however, and Beatboxer is another who has impressed me, so I’m prepared to watch and stick with the one selection.
Saturday’s selection:
4:00 Market Rasen – Theclockisticking; 9/2 Paddy Power
