Having shown promise in one run in a bumper at Ayr back in early-January Thepensionfund (19:15) is of interest on his hurdling debut at Worcester this evening.
Lucinda Russell’s six-year-old eventually faded into third behind Idee de Garde, but moved well through the heavy ground, suggesting he has a future. The ground will be much livelier here and he might need further in time, but he looks capable of going well and is a relatively rare runner for the Grand National winning trainer at the track.
