Owen Burrows’ Dark Angel colt came from off the pace to finish with a rattle at Lingfield and with the stable in good form (had 4 winners from 6 runners between Wednesday and Saturday last week), he is taken to shed the maiden tag at the second time of asking.
Another to finish runner-up on his racecourse debut Leather Belly (5:10) is another who holds strong claims this afternoon.
Runner-up to a potentially nice sort in a bumper at Ayr, Becky Menzie’s five-year-old sets a fair standard in the concluding bumper from Perth today and Brian Hughes takes the ride – he has ridden 10 winners for the Durham based trainer.
