A highly progressive three-year-old last term Stradivarius (3:30) is fancied to make a winning return in this afternoon’s Yorkshire Cup.
The winner of last year’s Queen’s Vase and Goodwood Cup, the Sea The Stars colt appeals as the type to take high rank in the staying division this season and he can make the best possible start.
Later on the card Koditime (5:05) is of interest under top-weight in the 5f handicap.
Clive Cox’s Kodiac colt won first time out on good-to-firm ground at Doncaster at two, before catching the eye with how he travelled on soft ground at Newbury. He failed in group company thereafter, but he remains a potentially smart sprinter and can go well on his return, under Ryan Moore.
