Paul Ferguson has three selections for us on Wednesday; Samcro 13:30, Monalee 14:10 and Fixe Le cap 14:50 all at Cheltenham. Compare odds and bet.
The unbeaten Samcro (1:30) is fancied to land the opener on day two at the Cheltenham Festival, for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown House Stud.
A high-class novice, he has done little wrong in three starts over hurdles to date and, with the ground unlikely to prove an inconvenience, he is taken to outclass the opposition. Fellow Irish raider Next Destination is respected, but Samcro looks a little bit special and can live up to the hype this afternoon.
Monalee (2:10) bounced back for a Christmas fall when winning the Flogas Novice Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival last time and is taken to lower the colours of Presenting Percy in the RSA Chase.
Henry de Bromhead’s charge jumped beautifully on debut and again fenced well when winning last time, so hopefully that fall was just a blip. The seven-year-old reportedly had to be rushed a little to be ready for that latest assignment and, with that in mind, he can confirm the form with a couple of those that re-oppose from in behind. He ran a sound race in last year’s Albert Bartlett and can go one better this year.
At a much bigger price Fixe Le Kap (2:50) is worthy of each-way support in the hugely competitive Coral Cup. Nicky Henderson’s grey was a little disappointing last time, on his return to hurdling, but he might well come on for that run and ought to relish the ground.
You could make a case for plenty in here, but the six-year-old certainly appeals as one that could go well at a nice price.
