Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Monday; Boreham Bill in the Southwell 15:00. Compare odds and bet.
Despite a disappointing effort on Boxing Day Boreham Bill (3:00) is given another chance in this afternoon’s maiden hurdle at Southwell.
Ben Pauling’s six-year-old had earlier made a really encouraging start to his hurdling career, with a solid fourth at Newbury, in a race that has worked out really well since – the winner Santini won at Cheltenham last weekend; runner-up Chef des Obeaux has won twice since; Robin Waters (3rd) won in a canter at Wetherby on Saturday, and even fifth home Bill And Barn won next time.
A reproduction of that form ought to be good enough here, although Monbeg Oscar is respected, especially based on his second behind Maria’s Benefit at Sandown.
Monday’s selection:
3:00 Southwell: Boreham Bill; 11/4 Ladbrokes
