The quirky but talented SONG LIGHT (6:40) has been frustrating to follow over hurdles this term and might well be rejuvenated by returning to the Flat this evening.
Seamus Mullins’ seven-year-old was good enough to hit the frame in both the Greatwood and Betfair Hurdle last season, but has refused twice – and tried his best not to race at Ascot in between – in three starts since.
He did, however, put his best foot forward when winning with ease at Goodwood and, if he gets away on terms, has decent claims despite the 10lb rise. A smooth traveller, he has the natural talent to win again off his revised mark.
