A bumper winner at Ayr on Scottish Grand National day in 2016, he reappeared in a decent bumper at Haydock last November before failing to strike in three starts over hurdles.
There was bits of promise in each run and he begins the new season on a fair looking mark (114) for this handicap debut. With another summer behind him, this imposing grey could be an improved performer this winter.
