Paul Ferguson hopes to get November off to a flying start with Riverside Theatre in the 3.10 at Kempton
As I pointed out on both Saturday and Sunday, some of Nicky Henderson’s runners appear to be in need of their seasonal debuts and that is again a slight concern with Monday’s sole selection Riverside Theatre (3:10) at Kempton.
However, the six-year-old has won on his reappearance in each of his three seasons and he also boasts a 100% record at the track; he’s 3 from 3 having won a bumper, a novice hurdle and a Grade 2 novice chase here.
The step up to 2m4f ought to bring about further improvement too, as I’ve long thought he would appreciate a step up from the minimum trip.
Novice Golan Way is sure to set a searching gallop from the front and, with a fitness edge on his rivals, may take some pegging back.
At the tissue prices he may represent a bit of value but, at the time of writing, the selection is trading around 13/8 on the exchanges and, at those kind of odds, his fitness is worth taking on trust.
Monday’s selection:
3:10 Kempton: Riverside Theatre
