Frankie Dettori’s Lingfield based Godolphin treble yesterday cost the bookies in excess of £2 million according to Ladbrokes.
His three mounts for Godolphin all obliged to leave the layers counting the cost of yet another red-letter day for the popular Italian.
David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Frankie was at his brilliant best and he’s clobbered us. Our shops were brimming with his fans looking for the treble all morning and he didn’t let down his army of backers.
“Dettori still has a following like no other jockey. We had all the clues we needed with just three mounts and when all three winners came in we knew it was going to be ugly.”
Dettori has been trimmed to 20/1 (from 25/1) for next year’s Flat jockeys’ title after sustained support since the market was opened a fortnight ago.
