All eyes will be on Leopardstown on Sunday, but Bolving (1:40) is an interesting runner in the opening novices’ hurdle at Fontwell.
Victor Dartnall’s six-year-old was the impressive winner of a Kempton bumper on debut last February and that race has worked out pretty well, with those in behind showing a fair level of form over hurdles. The selection went on to run in the Grade 2 at Aintree, where he failed to get competitive. He wore a hood that day, which is replaced today by a tongue-tie, and, if he settles on debut, he looks capable of going well – given he won on debut, he might be one to catch first time out.
