Owls Too Wise For Bournemouth

In League 1, Sheffield Wednesday can notch their 4th league win in a row if they beat promotion chasing Bournemouth.

Sheffield Wednesday continued their renaissance last weekend, registering a third straight win and keeping another clean sheet as they struck twice without reply at Yeovil. The result took the Owls into fourth place but they can move up to at least third if they manage a fourth consecutive victory against the team directly above them, Bournemouth.

The fact that the clash is at Hillsborough is crucial as Eddie Howe’s troops have struggled on the road this term, collecting 16 of their 21 points on their own patch and Alan Irvine’s side, at evens with , can ensure the Cherries’ away struggles continue.

Meanwhile, Wednesday have gone almost 400 minutes without conceding a league goal and they look decent value to keep that defensive stability going in this one; bet365 quoting them at 12/5 to combine a victory with a shutout.

Leaders Brighton also look primed for a home victory as they host Yeovil but as 888Sport’s 4/7 for an Albion triumph is the best price around, punters could be forgiven for seeking value elsewhere. Fortunately it can be found at Paddy Power, who post 6/4 against Kazenga Lua-Lua finding the net at some point. The skilful teenager, on-loan from Newcastle, has been in impressive form of late, scoring three in his last four.

The Seagulls ran out 4-0 winners at Charlton last weekend and we’re predicting more misery for the Addicks as they head north to Carlisle. The Cumbrians have stuttered a touch of late but they remain solid at home and up against a team whose away form fails to convince, they look a solid bet at 5/4 () to emerge triumphant.

Swindon were 3-0 down inside 23 minutes at Peterborough last week but had managed to draw level by half-time. A last minute Kevin Amankwaah own goal however, condemned them to a 5-4 defeat but they can pick themselves up this week by beating struggling Leyton Orient; a result available with bet365 at 10/11.

Finally, Rochdale’s three straight defeats are a worry ahead of the visit of Dagenham and Redbridge to Spotland while their opponents’ recent results do little to suggest they can claim the points. Sidestepping the match betting for a wager on a low-scoring affair could be the way to pocket a profit in Lancashire then as the away side have failed to score in four out of six on their travels and Rochdale have struck only once in their last three. Betdaq chalk evens against the pair generating fewer than three goals between them.

Recommended Bets:
Under 2.5 goals in Rochdale v Dagenham – evens (Betdaq)
Sheffield Wednesday to beat Bournemouth ‘to nil’ – 12/5 (bet365)
Kazenga Lua Lua to score at any time for Brighton – 6/4 (Paddy Power)
