Uttoxeter stages a decent card on Sunday and the Gordon Banks Novices’ Chase is a fairly strong event for the time of year.
The three previous winners have to be respected, but One For The Guv’Nr (3:35) remains a horse of some potential and could be up to making a winning debut, in receipt of 6lbs from those penalised runners.
A smart novice hurdler a couple of seasons ago, Nicky Henderson’s strong-travelling seven-year-old raced a shade too keenly when only sixth here four weeks ago and he will need to settle better this afternoon. With that run under his belt, he will hopefully be more relaxed and that could help him see out today’s trip, which, admittedly, remains a slight concern.
