European TV Games

There is a great selection of games on TV from around Europe this weekend; 10 games from the Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A.

Live on ESPN, Fri 19.30: Cologne v Borussia Dortmund:
Borussia Dortmund lost their opening match of the campaign but have won six on the spin since then, culminating in a 2-0 triumph against Bayern Munich last time out, and they look decent value at 10/11 with Coral to emerge triumphant on Friday as they head to struggling Cologne.

Jurgen Klopp’s troops have been in sparkling goalscoring form as well, finding the net 13 times in their last four matches and they’re 12/5 (888Sport) to come out on top by at least two in a contest that is 19/20 with bet365 to produce three or more goals.

Live on Setanta, Sat 17.00: AC Milan v Chievo:
AC Milan and Chievo are separated by just a point in the Serie A standings but it’s the Rossoneri that can come out on top as the pair lock horns at the San Siro. Massimiliano Allegri’s side however, are just 1/2 with bet365 to make it three league wins in a row and so it could be worth focusing on their defensive strength.

They’ve kept back-to-back clean sheets domestically and in a game that Betdaq rate at 5/6 to produce fewer than 2.5 goals, AC Milan are an attractive proposition at 7/5 (888Sport) to combine a victory with a clean sheet.

Live on Skysports 4, Sat 19.00: Barcelona v Valencia:
At present, Barcelona look stronger on the road than they do at the Camp Nou, where they have taken just four points from a possible nine, culminating in a disappointing 1-1 with Mallorca last time out. The Catalans giants are subsequently three points off the pace in La Liga but intriguingly, their next assignment is the visit of current leaders Valencia.

Pep Guardiola’s side are favourites for the points and few would argue with that, despite that recent stalemate and the fact that Hercules have already beaten Barca on their own patch, but there’s little appeal in backing them at a market best of 2/5 (Coral), especially as they tended to struggle of late after international breaks and are missing the influential Xavi.

Buoyant Valencia, slightly overpriced at 8/1 with Stan James, are more than capable of making life difficult for their hosts and while it looks a touch risky to back them to get a result, they can get on the scoresheet and accordingly the best bet in Catalonia is 888Sport’s 5/6 for both teams to find the net.

Live on Setanta, Sat 19.45: Roma v Genoa:
In the capital, Roma are 10/11 favourites to see off Genoa but the struggling hosts have done little this season to warrant an odds-on quote, even following up a victory over Inter with a defeat at Napoli, so this could be a clash to swerve.

Live on Skysports 4, Sat 21.00: Malaga v Real Madrid:
Malaga and third-placed Real Madrid go head-to-head at La Rosaleda. The pair, along with Villareal, are the joint top scorers in La Liga after six games and 10/11 (888Sport) is available for the duo to add to their tallies; that price seemingly better value than the 2/5 on offer with Partybets for Jose Mourinho’s men to collect maximum points on the Costa del Sol.

Live on ESPN, Sun 11.30: Cagliari v Inter Milan:
Cagliari have drawn four of their opening six matches, all of those matches finishing goalless and a similar outcome could be on the cards as the Sardinian outfit entertain champions Inter. Naturally Rafa Benitez’s men are odds-on favourites in most places but they failed to break down Juventus last time out and went down 1-0 at struggling Roma in their last away match, so they aren’t in the greatest shape ahead of this tricky encounter.

Stan James’ 23/10 chalked against a stalemate catches the eye then and for the bold bet365 offer 9/1 for neither side to break the deadlock.

Live on ESPN, Sun 14.00: Sampdoria v Fiorentina:
Like Cagliari, Sampdoria have recorded draw in all but two of their matches but they can manage a second win of the campaign this weekend as they host stuttering Fiorentina; a result available with William Hill at an encticing 6/5.

Live on ESPN, Sun 16.30: Hoffenheim v Monchengladbach:
In Sunday’s televised clash, 888Sport post 4/6 against Hoffenheim seeing off struggling Monchengladbach and in the basement battle.

Live on Skysports 1, Sun 18.00: Athletico Bilbao v Zaragoza:
Winless in their opening six matches, Real Zaragoza look up against it as they head to ‘La Catedral’ to tackle Atletico Bilbao. The hosts look a home banker at 10/11 with Coral and given that under-fire Zaragoza boss Jose Aurelio Gay has seen his side fail to score in four of their half-dozen games, Bilbao could combine victory with a clean sheet; a wager available with Paddy Power at 11/5.

Live on Skysports 1, Sun 20.00: Sporting Gijon v Sevilla:
Gregorio Manzano’s appointment at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium is starting to have the desired effect, Seville having beaten Bundesliga high-flyers Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid in their last two outings and that improvement means they are worth siding with at El Molinon, where they meet Sporting Gijon.

The home side have managed only one win this season and there’s little to suggest that they can improve on that record here. The visitors are the pick then at 6/5 (Stan James) as they seek to keep the pressure on La Liga’s top four.
