Toulouse remain Coral’s clear 7/2 favourites to lift the Heineken Cup despite almost suffering a defeat at home to Wasps in the first round of matches.
Guy Noves’ side were let off the hook in the final moments of their 18-16 victory as the Aviva Premiership outfit missed a penalty that would have handed them a shock victory but the contest, played in difficult conditions, has had little impact on the betting.
Second favourites, Leicester are also unchanged at 8/1 with Totesport after posting a 34-29 victory at Benetton Treviso while Clermont’s 25-10 success against Saracens means they’re next in the betting at 9/1 (bet365) and Biarritz have been cut to 10/1 from 12s by William Hill after edging out Bath by a single point at the Rec.
The big movers were London Irish, whose 23-17 triumph over Munster saw them slashed from 80/1 to 40/1 by Ladbrokes; that result also nudging the Magners League side out to 14/1 with Stan James.
Leinster and Northampton meanwhile, were both winners on the opening weekend and can be backed at 14/1 and 16/1 respectively with Victor Chandler and Totesport to go on and lift the trophy.
