Those who have followed Space Cadet (4:30) over hurdles to date will becoming increasingly frustrated with Gordon Elliott’s charge, but he looks capable of going well on his handicap debut this afternoon.
The six-year-old has finished runner-up on all five starts over timber this term, but he has invariably bumped into a smart rival and the step up to 3m on slightly better ground could easily bring about improvement. A mark of 121 seems fair and, with the prospect of a more truly run race also being in his favour, he is worthy of support in what looks a competitive affair.
