Richard Hughes meets the BHA on Thursday and is 4/7 (William Hill) to get a reduced ban in his quest to be Champion Jockey.
Following an incident involving aboard Aviso at Wolverhampton last Saturday, Hughes was found guilty of careless riding, and suspended for six days between Saturday 16th October, and Monday to Friday, 18th to 22nd October 2010.
The ban effectively brings an end to the late surge Hughes was making in the Jockeys’ Flat Championship. The Classic-winning jockey had brought the margin down to just nine wins between him and long-time leader Paul Hangan.
