Paul Ferguson has three selections for us on Sunday; Seeyouatmidnight 12.30 Kelso, Ptit Zig 2.00 and La Bague Au Roi 3.05 both at Huntingdon. Compare odds and bet.
After a pleasing return at Down Royal and an encouraging second to Vautour at Ascot just 15 days ago Ptit Zig (2:00) can land Huntingdon’s Peterborough Chase on Sunday.
Paul Nicholls’ six-year-old is at his best around this trip on soft ground and, if the race doesn’t come too quickly for him (won three times in a similar period last year), he looks the one to beat under his optimum conditions.
Later on the same card Waterlord is one to watch on his hurdles bow, but he would appreciate drier ground, while La Bague Au Roi (3:05) can make it three from three in bumpers by landing the hotly-contested Listed Henrietta Knight Mares’ contest.
Impressive when beating Kaliniti (won last week) at Aintree last month, she looks an exciting recruit and, though she would probably also prefer better ground, she is taken to complete the hat-trick for Warren Greatrex.
Up at Kelso Seeyouatmidnight (12:30) can get off the mark over fences in the Paris Pike Novices’ Chase. Third behind one of today’s rivals Silsol (won again since) on debut at Carlisle, Sandy Thomson’s seven-year-old appeared to blow up that day and should strip fitter here.
On 10lb better terms, he can reverse form with Paul Nicholls’ runner, who had another hard race at Haydock just 16 days ago.
