Paul Ferguson has two selections from Cheltenham for us on Sunday; Renneti in the 2.40 and Fingerontheswitch at 3.15. Compare odds and bet.
Sunday’s Greatwood Hurdle looks as competitive as ever, but Renneti (2:40) is a horse with a lot of natural ability and, at around 16-1, he looks worthy of each-way support.
Willie Mullins’ dual-purpose performer was last seen finishing fourth in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket, which proves his wellbeing, and he remains unexposed over hurdles after just five starts.
Runner-up in a Grade 1 as a novice, he won easily on his return to hurdling at Sligo during the summer and a strongly run race such as this promises to suit. He does have his quirks, however, refusing once during his novice days, but he undoubtedly has the ability to win a nice prize off 144, in my opinion.
The conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle also looks really competitive, but Fingerontheswitch (3:15) is one that could well be ahead of his mark and, again, he looks worthy of support.
Runner-up to stable-mate and runaway Friday winner Shantou Village in an Irish point-to-point, Neil Mulholland’s five-year-old is one from two over hurdles to date and is another who promises to be well suited by a strongly run race at this trip.
