Though he faces a fair yardstick in the shape of Killala Quay, who finished fourth in the 2014 Neptune, Kerry Lee’s Kylemore Lough (3:25) is taken to make a winning debut over fences in Uttoxeter’s Kalahari King Beginners’ Chase.
The six-year-old won three times over hurdles in the first half of last season and the son of Revoque appeals as a the type to do even better over fences. Though he needs to prove himself on today’s quicker surface, the selection could well dominate if getting into a nice rhythm and, if doing so, might prove difficult to peg back.
