Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Wednesday; Agenor in the Newton Abbot 15:10. Compare odds and bet.
A winner on the Flat in Germany AGENOR (3:10) was pitched in fairly deep on his hurdling debut at Kempton over Christmas and he is very much of interest on his return this afternoon.
The four-year-old was held in some regard by trainer Jamie Snowden this time last year and, as we didn’t get to see him again after his disappointing seventh on debut, it is safe to assume he met with some sort of setback.
The Medicean gelding has had his sights lowered considerably here, contesting a summer novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (was sent off just 12-1 for that Kempton event now out to 16s), and he might well be overlooked in the market.
Clearly the selection has a little to prove, but he will hopefully be priced up accordingly and might be worth chancing each-way, despite facing a couple of useful and older rivals.
