Paul Ferguson has two selections from Royal Ascot for us on Thursday; Time Test at 3.05 and Forgotten Rules at 4.20. Compare odds and bet.
Hugely impressive when winning the valuable London Gold Cup Time Test (3:05) looks ready for the step up in class and can take the Group 3 Tercentenary Stakes for Roger Charlton.
The Dubawi colt quickened up in the style of a high-class prospect on his return at Newbury and, though he has more on his plate this afternoon, he can make it two from two for the season. The selection was heavily backed earlier in the week and was trading at 5-2 overnight.
Later on the card, Dermot Weld will need to decide whether or not the ground is suitable to allow Forgotten Rules (4:20) to take his chance in the Gold Cup.
The five-year-old remains unbeaten under both codes and is just about the most exciting stayer in training; if Ascot decide to water (has been mentioned) and the going is deemed suitable, he can show his class by landing his first Group 1 on just his fourth start under Flat rules. He was trading at 11-4 overnight, but will not be risked on ground that is too quick.
