£20 Saturday double returns £202

Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Penhill in the 3.20 at Newmarket and Limato in the Haydock 3.45. Compare odds and bet.

Impressive on his return at Ascot last month Limato (3:45) can maintain his 100% record in Haydock’s Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes on Saturday.

Henry Candy’s Tagula gelding has looked a potential top-notch sprinter in the making and this looks the ideal next rung up the ladder. Candy will no doubt have one eye on the inaugural running of the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and, though the rain arrived in Merseyside on Friday, he can make it six from six.

Another winner for this column on his seasonal reappearance Penhill (3:20) is also taken to follow up in Newmarket’s winner.co.uk Handicap.

The striking Mount Nelson gelding travelled supremely well at Ascot on his debut for Luca Cumani and probably had more in hand than the official margin would suggest. Up another 7lbs, he is another that is probably destined for next month’s Royal meeting and he can make it two from two for his new connections under Ryan Moore.

Saturday’s selections:
3:20 Newmarket; Penhill; 2/1 William Hill
3:45 Haydock; Limato; 5/4 William Hill
