£20 Monday double returns £136

Paul Ferguson two selections for us on Monday; Dicosimo in the Fairyhouse 2.45 and No No Manolito in the Huntingdon 5.50. Compare odds and bet.

If Cheltenham hasn’t left it’s mark Dicosimo (2:45) can return to winning ways in the opening four-year-old hurdle at Fairyhouse, on Irish Grand National day.

Willie Mullins’ Laveron gelding had earlier impressed when defying greenness to stay on strongly through the gloom to beat one of today’s opponents Prussian Eagle by 7½ lengths at Gowran.

An imposing individual, he led the field for most of the Triumph Hurdle and was still travelling sweetly at the foot of the hill. Probably still a little green for a contest of that nature at this stage (looks more of a long-term prospect than most juveniles) Ruby Walsh was pretty easy on him once his chance had gone and he ended up finishing eighth. He was available at 13-8 overnight with Boylesports.

On the domestic front, Charlie Longsdon’s No No Manolito (5:50) is fancied to defy a penalty in Hungtindon’s concluding bumper.

The five-year-old created a deep impression when winning a Fontwell bumper on debut last May, before failing to justify favouritism in a much warmer contest at Ascot in November (runner-up Gold Present runs earlier today at Market Rasen).

The form of his debut success reads pretty well, with runner-up Puisque Tu Pars winning a decent novice hurdle at Newbury last month, and the return to better ground will help. Given the fact he has been off the track for 135 days, you would think something came to light after that latest defeat and he is given another chance to build on that impressive debut success.

Monday’s selections:
2:45 Fairyhouse: Dicosimo; 11/8 Paddy Power
5:50 Huntingdon: No No Manolito; 15/8 betvictor
