A Chester handicap winner on the level last May, the Shirocco gelding has shaped well in decent company in three starts over hurdles, latterly when fourth behind Triumph Hurdle winner Peace And Co at Cheltenham on trials day.
The selection is a smooth traveller, who should appreciate the better ground and the slightly longer trip; he looks on a fair mark (123) for this handicap debut. He opened up 9-2 with Bet365 and Bet Victor on Friday evening, but was quickly proving popular.
