Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Tuesday; Dell’ Arca in the Taunton 15:45. Compare odds and bet.
With Warren Greatrex saddling a winner at Wincanton on Saturday and the Challow Hurdle form being franked last week, I’m really looking forward to seeing One Track Mind return to action at Wetherby on Tuesday.
Twice a winner at the track, he won’t be a betting proposition but is a horse that should be monitored closely with the future in mind, while the day’s selection comes from Taunton where Dell’ Arca (3:45) can land the feature handicap hurdle.
David Pipe’s six-year-old has reverted to hurdles recently and probably would have won at Cheltenham last month, had the final flight not been omitted. The Cheltenham Festival handicaps close today and I already have him in mind for the Coral Cup, so he needs to be going very close here, despite the sharp track being a slight negative over this trip.
Four-year-old Ibis Du Rheu is an interesting opponent in receipt of a healthy weight-for-age allowance and, being a Peace And Co fan, a bold show would be nice to see. This is a stiff ask, however, on just his second start since arriving from France and Dell’ Arca is preferred, with the selection trading at 2-1 overnight.
Tuesday’s selection:
3:45 Taunton: Dell’ Arca; 2/1 William Hill
