Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Avidity in the Sandown 13:30. Compare odds and bet.
The winner of a novice hurdle at Ayr 11 months ago Avidity (1:30) was only sixth on his belated reappearance at Musselburgh in January, but looked badly in need of the outing and he is given another chance at Sandown today.
James Ewart’s six-year-old makes the long journey south for the opening conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle and, down 2lbs in the weights, can strike under Dale Irving, who has ridden five winners over hurdles for the Ewart yard.
The Passing Glance gelding, who cost his current connections £80,000 in May 2013, opened up 7-1 on Friday evening and looks worth an each-way interest.
Friday’s selection:
1:30 Sandown: Avidity; 11/2 Paddy Power
