Sat 15.00 & Live on BTSport 1: Sun 12.15: A 19/4 double (bet365) and an Inverness are two of Peter Sharkey’s four Scottish Premiership picks.
With the exception of St Johnstone’s home match against Inverness, each of the Premiership’s other half dozen fixtures this weekend are the reverse of games played in August.
Second placed Inverness, thrashed 4-0 at home by Partick last weekend, kick off as William Hill’s marginal 7/4 underdogs to secure victory at McDiarmid Park. St Johnstone, by contrast, are priced as bet365’s 13/8 favourites to extend their winning streak to five matches.
Aberdeen have won each of their last five duels against Kilmarnock and it’s no surprise to see them quoted at 8/13 (Betway) to claim another victory at Pittodrie.
Indeed, punters might be tempted to take advantage of BetVictor’s 5/2 for the Dons to win both halves, although more circumspect folks, interested in adding to some insurance to that wager, could also fancy Skybet’s 10/11 posted in favour of both teams scoring. Note too that Stan James offer 2/1 against the game’s opening goal arriving inside the first fifteen minutes.
Partick and Dundee drew 1-1 at Dens Park in August, although buoyed by their outstanding success at Inverness last weekend, Partick start as bet365’s 13/10 favourites to secure maximum points on Saturday.
In other markets, Paddy Power consider Partick an 11/4 shot to win without conceding and Ladbrokes offer 10/3 against them enjoying a one-goal margin of victory.
Though they’ve stuttered of late, Hamilton continue to enjoy an excellent campaign and it’s difficult to see them losing at Ross County. Bookies agree, Winner.com installing the Accies as their 6/4 jollies to register three points and so maintain their unlikely challenge to secure a European berth.
Winless at home, St Mirren slumped to the bottom of the table after suffering a 4-1 reverse at Celtic last Sunday, yet they’re favoured to overhaul Motherwell this weekend, BetVictor.com pricing them as their 7/5 favourites to win. Bet365 rate a 1-1 outcome at 13/2, while Stan James price a 1-0 home win at 17/2
Celtic appear to have finally hit their stride, although they face a tricky encounter at Dundee United on Sunday, a match they start priced as Betway’s 4/6 jollies. The champions hammered United 6-1 at Parkhead in August, but if the Tannadice outfit are to realise their European ambitions, they must upset their 17/4 odds (Ladbrokes) and secure a victory. Bookies believe Celtic will prevail, with Skybet marking 8/1 against a 2-1 Celtic success.
