Stuart Broad returned from injury for England in Friday’s third one-day international against South Africa at Newlands.
Broad was back as England look to complete a victory which would put them in an unassailable 2-0 lead with two to play in this five-match series. Sajid Mahmood was the man to make way for Broad from the team which won by seven wickets at Centurion last weekend – while Graeme Swann also returned from his side injury, at the expense of his fellow spinner Adil Rashid.
Graeme Smith won an important toss for South Africa and unsurprisingly chose to bat first under cloudless skies at a venue where the statistics dramatically favour that tactic in day-night matches.
The hosts made two changes from Centurion, fast bowlers Morne Morkel and Wayne Parnell brought in for the former’s brother Albie and Charl Lengeveldt.
