The Welshman, who was initially chalked up as a 66/1 chance, went off the 2/1 second favourite behind Jenson Button (1/2).
Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “The gamble on Giggs was unprecedented. The Welsh wing wizard has left bookies in a daze and provided some early festive cheer to his supporters .”
Giggs is 25/1 to retain the accolade.
