Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Tuesday; Greensalt in the Sedgefield 13:50. Compare odds and bet.
There are some really nice horses on show at Huntingdon on Tuesday, namely hurdling debutant El Namoose, Nicky Henderson’s classy Volnay De Thaix who bids to defy top-weight in the 2m4f handicap hurdle, and both Ned Stark and My Wigwam Or Yours looks capable of making an impact over fences.
It is off to Sedgefield for the day’s selection, however, in the shape of Greensalt (1:50) who represents Donald McCain, Trevor Hemmings and Jason Maguire, in the novices’ handicap chase.
Despite remaining a maiden after seven career starts (finished second or third on all seven occasions) the Milan gelding, who is a full-brother to the smart Raya Star, showed bits and pieces of promise last term and threatens to make a better chaser.
The six-year-old ran well behind Blakemount at Newcastle last December and has since been on my radar as a prospective chaser. Top-weight and recent Aintree second Distime warrants plenty of respect, while Another Mattie is another decent recruit, but Greensalt looks a bet at 4-1 overnight.
Tuesday’s selection:
1:50 Sedgefield: Greensalt; 4/1 Ladbrokes
