The opening national hunt maiden hurdle at Chepstow on Tuesday looks a competitive affair and the Gary Moore trained Puisque Tu Pars (1:10) is worth supporting each-way.
A giant son of Walk In The Park, the four-year-old won a heavy ground ‘junior’ bumper on debut in March before finishing midfield in the Grade 2 at Aintree. Runner-up to a smart prospect on his third and final outing at Fontwell in May, his penalty anchored him on that occasions and, given his size, he probably found the ground on the quick side.
He appeals as the type to have done well physically over the summer and, with the stiff track and testing ground likely to suit, he looks capable of a bold show on his debut over timber.
The in-form Warren Greatrex also saddles an interesting runner, in the shape of Warrantor who was, admittedly, disappointing on his debut over hurdles at Plumpton last month.
The five-year-old had earlier looked a promising type in bumpers and, with the bigger field and probable stronger pace likely to suit, he could leave that form behind on what should prove a more suitable track. Being by Turtle Island, the ground shouldn’t be an issue either and he, too, can go well.
