Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; Kayf Blanco in the Market Rase 1.15 and Gilgamboa in the Navan 3.30. Compare odds and bet.
Only 13th in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle when last seen Gilgamboa (3:30) fared much better than the bare result that day (made a serious error at the second last) and the Boylesport.com Hurdle winner is fancied to make a winning chasing debut at Navan, on Sunday.
The Westerner gelding looks the type to improve for fences and connections will, no doubt, be hoping he develops into a Grade 1 novice chaser. While this is no simple task on debut (faces the returning Legal Exit and the classy Blood Cotil who would have won on his chase debut last year when falling two out), it is hoped he can get off to the best possible start under Mark Walsh.
Market Rasen stages a decent 2m3f maiden hurdle, with Kiteney Wood bumping into a pretty exciting sort last time and Joffrey also having shown promise in bumpers, before making his debut over timber in a warm heat at Ffos Las just 12 days ago.
Kayf Blanco (1:15) was another to show glimpses of promise in bumpers, latterly on debut for Graeme McPherson at Kempton in March and the five-year-old might well be over-priced; he can go well and is worth a small each-way interest.
Sunday’s selections:
1:15 Market Rasen: Kayf Blanco
3:30 Navan: Gilgamboa
