HORSE RACING: After the latest entry stahe for the Champion Hurdle, Zaynar is the new 5/1 favourite for the Cheltenham showpiece with Betfred.
Ahead of his run in this weekend’s Toshiba Irish Champion Hurdle, Solwhit is the 6/1 second favourite with bet365, a price he shares with another Irish star, Go Native at Victor Chandler.
The favourite’s stablemates, Binocular and reigning champion Punjabi, are 8/1 and 10/1 with Stan James and 888sport respectively, while their trainer Nicky Henderson is 6/4 at Coral to train the winner of the race. With 21 of the remaining entries trained in Ireland, Coral are also offering 11/10 that the prize goes back across the Irish Sea.
“While the Gold Cup is set to be a showdown between Kauto Star and Denman, and the Champion Chase and World Hurdle markets are dominated by Master Minded and Big Buck’s respectively, the Champion Hurdle looks wide open, with a strong Irish challenge taking on the home team, led by Nicky Henderson,” said Coral‘s David Stevens.
