Despite falling when looking beaten on her second start over fences Azza (4:00) could be worth another chances, returning to the larger obstacles in a novices’ handicap chase at Ludlow on Wednesday.
David Pipe’s filly had earlier jumped well when scoring impressively over this trip at Uttoxeter and ran a sound race when fourth in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot in late-August.
She found the trip too far that day and the drop back to 2m4f should suit the daughter of Great Pretender. Ludlow is also a kind track for a novice, with the fences on the small side, so she is taken to bounce back from the front, in receipt of weight from all four rivals. She was trading at 2-1 overnight.
