Premier League week five moves to the MEN in Manchester. Second placed Mervyn King takes on unbeaten Phil Taylor in the feature.
Phil Taylor V Mervyn King
The “Power” is a big favourite once again to maintain his 100% record at a best price 1/3 with Stan James and after demolishing Barney 8-2 at Exeter he’s hard to back against. Neverthless, Merv has been in fine form so far this season and his 8-5 victory over Terry Jenkins last week moved him into second place. Taylor has to lose sometime and Sportingbet‘s 6/1 have to be worth a small investment. The draw could also be a possibility; 5/1 bet365
James Wade V Ronnie Baxter
Ronnie caused another upset when beating the highly rated Australian Simon Whitlock 8-6 in a tight match at Exeter and he’s sitting pretty in third place. Paddy Power make Baxter the underdog again at 3/1 whilst William Hill price the reigning champion at 8/13 to claim his first win of the season. Wade scored his first point last week when drawing 7-7 with Adrian Lewis and Boylesports make another stalemate a 4/1 shot.
Terry Jenkins V Raymond van Barneveld
This one is perhaps the hardest to predict with both players struggling to find any consistency on Thursday nights. Skybet give the Dutchman the edge at 5/4, Jenkins is a best 7/5 at bet365 and a share of the spoils is 7/2 at betinternet.
Adrian Lewis V Simon Whitlock
The double king was finally brought back down to earth last week by Ronnie Baxter and the Aussie’s bubble could have burst. Stan James make him 7/5 to get back on track whilst Lewis who has just one win and a draw to his name so far is 13/10 at Sportingbet. The draw would be no surpise; 7/2 Paddy Power.
